Thumbs Up Cheap SPI screen support
Posted by: Gmk1212 - 01-21-2017, 01:42 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

It would be great if this software would work with SPI based screens. I am building a GUI for a project that uses a small and inexpensive SPI LCD touchscreen and would love to use this software.

I am limited in screen options based on cost since this is to be a manufactured product with a narrow profit margin. The screen I plan on using is a 2.4" TFT LCD at a cost of $3.50 each.

I can currently drive it with the Adafruit GFX core craphics library and the Adafruit_TFTLCD library (0x9341).

If G2 supported these kinds of screens, makers could easily develop professional products at a lower cost.

Clicking or right-clicking on the screen crashes the program

When I left-click or right-click in a blank area of the screen (where you would drop the objects) the program crashes and closes. I am running Windows 7 Pro SP1.

Hey,

I just started to work on G2 again. I had my LCDs for months now but just couldn't find the time.
Just wondering apart from DUE which boards are compatible?
The working voltage of 3.3V poses a few limitations other than the screen.
Mega has a 3.3V port so would it work just as good ?

Regards

Hello!
I could see some functions listed in the tutorial and in the calibration sample. Can you list all functions available?
Cheers

Is there a list of supported LCD's or is it just the 2 that are in the trial software? (the 4.3" and 5")

I currently own a 3.2" and I did not see any support for it. I had purchased this size for trial run purposes, the screens I  am going to use for my 3 projects will be 7".  Or if I have to down size to 5".

Hey,

I just got my LCDs. I'll post the pics in a while but now I cant seem to find the Adafruit driver board. Is there any other way to do this.
Also the LCD dont seem to have a 4 pin SPI just 16 pins I guess.
Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

  Work Space Little Too Big

Work space in the demo unregistered version of the software is a little too big. It covers some buttons and details at the bottom.

Forgive the bad outline I was using snipping tool [Image: tongue.png]

The forum should be fairly self explanatory, the rules will be fairly standard but strict. If you want the technical version:

rule #1 is that anything posted can be moderated/deleted at my discretion
rule #2 is any user can be moderated/banned at my discretion
rule #3 is that anything posted should be considered public domain

But the layman's version is we are here to discuss technical matters and development of open source projects and commercial product, keep the atmosphere on target and constructive and we will have no problems!

cheers
